  COMPLYING DEVELOPMENT CERTIFICATES

Complying development is minor, low impact development which may be single dwelling houses, alterations and additions, shop refurbishments, swimming pools, carports, garages, pergolas, fences, retaining walls, cabanas etc. There are sets of rules for each type of building work, issued by the Council, which governs whether complying development is appropriate for your development. We will tell you whether you can do complying development as we have all the Council rules and policies. If you can’t we will need to lodge a development approval for you.

Residential Work
This is a fast track 7 day process. A complying development certificate is for simple routine development whereby you do not require a development application and a construction certificate. The complying development is equivalent to both of these. Call us and we will let you know if this is allowed on your property.  
Design Statement download
Download this form if your proposed work involves any structural, hydraulic, mechanical, civil roadwork and driveways. This design statement will be required to confirm that the design meets the proper levels of design.
Sediment Control Management Plan download
Download this form when you are required to provide a sediment control plan in accordance with a development consent condition or a complying development requirement.
Fire safety Schedule download
Download this form when you need to obtain a construction certificate for a commercial building and industrial building work. This form needs to be attached to the application for construction certificate. It is not required for residential building work.

You must ensure a qualified person such as an architect or engineer nominates the fire safety services in accordance with the Building Code of Australia.
